Raising children with emotional and behavioral challenges has a profound effect on everyone in the family. Children with mental health disorders require a lot of attention that translates into lost work hours for the parent and an increase in health care needs and medications that are not adequately covered by insurance. The very best of marriages and relationships are often tested to the maximum when parenting a child with mental health issues. Children with these disorders typically struggle at school.
